Thabiti has some excellent thoughts about preaching. In case you haven't saved his blog in your favoirites, do so now. In my estimation, this is one of if not the best blog out there.
He says,
1. Be Clear.
2. Preach More Doctrinal Sermons.
3. Address Non-Christians Clearly.
4. Get to Jesus.
5. Address People with Jesus' Words.
6. Preach in God's Spirit.
