Who's Dying For Who?

I'm facinated with the irony of John 13:37-38. Jesus tells the disciples that He is going away and they cannot follow Him now. They have left everything to follow Him. And now, He is drawing a line in the sand and saying they can go no further. Peter responds by saying, "Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you."

Peter will deny his Master in just a few hours (maybe not even that long). What Peter needs is for Jesus to lay down His life for him.

It doesn't matter if you are willing to lay down your life for Jesus. What really matters is if Jesus laid down His life for you.
