Free Book Contest - Sermon Title

Help me with my sermon title for Sunday and win a free book. I'll give away a copy of John Piper's newest biography book, Filling Up the Afflictions of Christ, to the person who comes up with the best title for my Philippians 2:5-11 sermon.

However, I'm not just looking for any random title (that would be easy for this majestic passage). I'm looking for one that fits the text AND fits with the other titles for my Philippians series. Here is where we have been so far:

Philippians 1:1-8 - Gospel Partnership
Philippians 1:9-11 - Gospel Prayer
Philippians 1:12-18 - Gospel Advancement
Philippians 1:19-25 - Gospel Ambition
Philippians 1:27-30 - Gospel Living
Philippians 2:1-4 - Gospel Unity

You can see where I'm going. I would like a title that matches the others ("Gospel _____"), and that fits Philippians 2:5-11.

So, if you want to help me out and have a good chance to win Filling Up the Afflictions of Christ, post your suggestion in the comments or send me an e-mail with your entry. If 2 people submit the same thing, the one who made the suggestion first will win the book. Any questions?

Book Giveaway: Just 5 Books

Let's have a little contest. In my previous post, I forced myself to answer this question: "Justin, if you were leaving this afternoon for 3 years and could only take 5 books (in addition to the Bible), which would you take?" So, I want to hear your answer to that question. And, for the person with the best answer, I'll give them a copy of a brand new book: Why We Love the Church by DeYoung and Kluck (check out the endorsements for this book).

So, here are the rules:

1. Make a list of the 5 books you would select. Assume that you have access to the ESV Study Bible online and all Piper books online (in other words, don't include these in your list).

2. Post your list on your blog and then paste a link in the comments of this post (please also include a link back to this post so that people know what you are doing). If you don't have a blog, just post your list in the comments of this post. As a means of getting others involved, post a link to this contest on facebook or twitter.

3. Include any details you would like. Tell us why you chose that particular book.

4. I'll select the top 3 or so and have people vote to determine the winner.

5. Have your list posted in the comments of this post by Wednesday, July 22.

6. I'll also give away another book (to be determined) at random to one of you who makes a list. So, you can win by just posting your list. Hopefully, this will be an incentive to participate.

7. Please include an e-mail address if I don't know you, so that I can contact you if (when) you win.

8. Have fun!

The 1,000 Book Celebration

I'm going to celebrate the kindness of God to me (in the form of 1,000 books) by giving away some books! Thats right. Books for everyone (well, maybe more like: Books for a few of you). Here is how it will work: Below is a list of 7 books to chose from. Look them over, then make a list of the top 3 you would like to have. E-mail me that list of the top 3 along with your address before noon (Eastern) on Friday (3-23-07). Then, I will put each list on a slip of paper and randomly draw 4 or 5 out. Simple enough?

Just one rule: Only put books on your list that you don't own. If you already have all these, sorry.

Here are your options:
1. this book.
2. this book.
3. this book.
4. this book.
5. this book.
6. this book.
7. this book.
