1. I've never paid $4 for a gallon of gas (thats probably about to change).
2. I've never paid for any kind of cable TV service. Jeanna and I have been married for 9 years. I lived a year or so before that in an apartment. So, do the math: What would 10 years of cable have cost me? $5,000 (not including the equipment involved)? Consider the next 30 years. $15,000-$20,000? And, at the end of that 30 years, what will the cable subscriber have gained for all that money? My intention is not to condemn those who pay for cable TV. Men much more godly than myself subscribe to it. My intention is just to maybe help someone realize that it is possible to survive today without it. Some of us grew up in homes where it would be unthinkable not to have cable TV.
3. I've never bought something with a credit card that I didn't have the money to pay for. It is unthinkable to me that someone would put anything on a credit card for which they were not intending to pay in full when the bill came. Do you know how much interest you are paying? Of course, I understand that someone may have a unique circumstance and have to put necessary food on credit just to survive. I'm talking about buying a new stereo knowing that you are going to pay 20% interest on it for the next 3 years.
