Just plain stupid
Forgive me for blogging about something so trivial, but I thought I might serve the men out there by helping them learn from my mistakes. I thought I would be a good husband tonight by cleaning up the kitchen before my wife made it home. I loaded up the diswasher and reached for the stuff you put in the little dispenser that makes the dishes clean. Feeling pretty good about myself, I returned to my book to read a few more sections. Next thing I know, my dishwasher is ejecting soap suds faster than I can wipe them up. I had made a crucial error. Instead of putting "dish detergent" into my dishwasher, I put "dish soap." Can you believe that? One word (detergent vs. soap) changed everything. If I had put the dish detergent into the dishwasher, I would have been the best husband in the world. Instead, I put dish soap in the dishwasher and I spent the next hour on my hands and knees moping the kitchen floor and scooping out water (at least our floor is good and clean now).
Well, there you have it. I am officially an idiot. Consider yourself duly warned: dish soap is for dishes but not the kind you put in the dishwasher. If you want to wash the dishes do not use dish soap in the dishwasher.

I sometimes wonder how someone as smart as you can do something as dumb as this, but thanks for trying to help out. At least Karis will have a nice, clean floor!
Justin--don't feel so bad. I made the same mistake.....of course, it was 1988 and it was the summer before I went into the 6th grade...but it was still the same mistake. I can remember purposely doing it again just to slide around on the floor.
