I'll get us started with implications:
1. We can actually know God. Because He has revealed Himself in Christ, we can be confident that we have acurate knowledge of Him.
Been meditating on Col. 3:11 today---"Christ is all and in all."
wow. the implication that Christ is ALL means everything that you could shove into that word. ALL is therefore one of my favorite words now. It means everything has meaning--for it somehow finds its way back to flowing from His personhood to give Him glory and radiating Him.
If I was Piper I would say Col. 3:11 (somehow--eventually) speaks even of pizza. Everything is created by Him and for Him.
Don't ask me why of all the things I could have used to put in the word ALL I chose pizza. Hungry i guess.
Rob, did you just say that Christ is pizza and in pizza?
Isn't that Hindu theology?
Just kidding, I know what you are saying.
But, did you answer the question? Are you saying that because Christ is God, everything has meaning?
no,
I'm saying that the cheese and pepperoni on top of the pizza don't desintigrate at any moment but remain solid products for our pleasure simply and profoundly because Christ (in a very mysterious governmental way but also in a very real way) upholds the elements that make up those products by the very word of His power.
This to me---gives everything meaning.
