The Glory of Christ

God has given me the special privilage of preaching His Word this Sunday. I was asked on Thursday to preach because my pastor has been sick and is out of town. I usually like to spend a lot of time preparing sermons, but am always thankful for opportunities that really cause me to lean on Christ. He is strong in my weakness. He always likes to magnify Himself in my weakness. He has also given me much more time than I had anticipated on Thursday and have already seen His hand at work in my life through this message.
My first reaction when asked to preach was to think about Colossians 1 and the glory of Christ. I thought, "There is no better subject to take up than this one."
Immediately, I developed this outline (through the illumination of the Holy Spirit):

1. The Glory of Christ Revealed in His Relationship to His Creation (v. 15-17).
2. The Glory of Christ Revealed in His Relationship to His Church (v. 18).
3. The Glory of Christ Revealed in His Relationship to His Cross (v. 19-20).

I have never preached a message where all the points have any sort of rhyme or begin with the same letter. I often loathe how people manipulate their outline to fit their desire to share 5 "P's." I wrote this outline and began preparing before I realized that His glory is revealed in His relationship to three "C's."

Just thought you may like to know what is going on in my life. And if you read this before Sunday morning, please pray for me.
