Some DC Highlights

Well, I'm back and very tierd. God has been good to me. Here are just a few of the many mercies that were poured out on me this past week while leading a group of 32 people on our mission trip:

1. Hard labor. Thanks to Guilford Baptist for putting us to work in the hot sun. It has been a while since I have had to labor with my hands this hard. I am much more thankful for my nice cool study.
2. 2 13-year-old boys. Both of these Jr. High students are new to our group. This was their first mission trip. Dylan witnessed to more people this past week than many people witness to in their lifetimes. He talked to everyone about Christ. And he got creative. He challenged the entire group all week long. The other, Clint, was just as bold. He sat by a guy on a crowed Metro train and began to talk about the gospel. The guy on the train, Brian, was an intellectual type. He wanted to try all the religions out and find which one was best. He began to challenge Clint. His challenge would have intimidated me, but not Clint. Clint kept sharing the gospel and loving on Brian. Finally, when we arrived at our stop, I overheard Clint's love-soaked words to Brian: "Brian, it was very nice to meet you. I hope I will see you in Heaven one day."
3. A tour of Covenant Life by Karl Graustein.
4. A chance to talk baseball and church planting with Mike McKinnley, pastor of Guilford Baptist.
5. Meeting Everett Pope of United Baptist Church. Everett's joy in Christ and love for the gospel were contagious.

There were many more mercies, but these are just a few that will leave a lasting impact on me.

Thanks for sharing this, Justin. I really want to hear what the Lord did in your life through this trip, so I hope you will share about it on upcoming posts. Looking forward to it.
