Getting to Know My Readers
In an attempt to get some interaction going, I really would like to know:
1. How can I pray for you?
2. Where are you currently reading in the Scriptures?
3. What book(s) outside of the Bible are you currently reading?

Hey Justin I love your blog and enjoy reading it. I like your idea of getting to know your readers better so here are my answers to your questions...
1. You can pray for the Sanctification of myself and all the members of Christ's body and the continued gathering of the elect from the four corners of the earth.
2. I'm currently reading alot of different sections of scripture. Galatians, James, Hosea and working my way through Psalms. Psalm 27:4 has become a personal favorite and daily prayer.
3. Outside of Scripture I am again reading lots of different things. "Calvinism at the Las Vegas Airport" by Richard Mouw. "The End for Which God Created the World" by Jonathan Edwards. "The Mortification of Sin" by John Owen. and Finally "Humility" by C.J. Mahaney.
Thanks again for asking and caring about your readers and keep up the great posts!
1. Prayer - That I would see my life and time through God's eyes and spend accordingly. 2. Proverbs, Jeremiah, Luke, Hebrews 3. The Gospel Primer (Vincent), A Godward Life (Piper), Jonathan Edwards: A Life (Marsden), Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands (Tripp), Spiritual Reformation (Carson), Institutes (Calvin), Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life (Whitney), When I Don't Desire God (Piper), The Cross and Christian Ministry (Carson), When Sinners Say I Do (Harvey), Gilead (Robinson).
BTW, 5 of these I read with different people or groups.
1. Please pray I can find my greatest hope in the gospel in the midst of a difficult workplace.
2. I am reading Isaiah (OT favorite!), II Peter, and Luke.
3. I am also reading "Because He Loves Me" by Elyse Fitzpatrick, "The Cross of Christ" by John Stott, "To the Golden Shore" by Courtney Anderson, "Revolution in Orange" and "Inside Putin's Russia" by Andrew Jack.
Aaron, I love the list of books. You have a good mix of subjects/authors going at the same time.
I'm praying for you to hear the voice of the Shepherd and follow Him (John 10:27).
Lisa, I'm praying for wisdom and discernment, stability and joy.
Thanks for asking:
1. Please pray for me as I prepare to preach Sunday. That I would be enabled to herald the greatness of Jesus. Also, pray that I would love people enough to share the gospel with them.
2. I'm reading Psalms, John, and Revelation.
3. I'm reading "The Cross of Christ" by Stott; "The Work of Jesus Christ as an Advocate" by Bunyan; "Spiritual Depression" by Lloyd-Jones; and a bunch of Revelation commentaries.
I'm hoping Driscoll's "Death by Love" and Mahaney's "Worldliness" are sitting on my front porch right now.
How can you possibly read that many books at once? Do you read a section in one a day? A paragraph in each a day? Yours is like the Challies/Mohler stack...
Justin,
I will pray for focus and discernment in John; for love and boldness with believers and unbelievers.
Hi Justin- Prayer- That I will be the man that God desires me to be, specifically as a husband, father, church member and then the college ministry I am involved in.
Books of the Bible: i Corinthians, John, Psalms and Proverbs.
Books: The Discipline of Spiritual Discernment by Tim Challies, Devotions for a Deeper Life by Oswald Chambers. Currently contemplating my next reads!
1) I need a full time job with better pay and benefit. My walk to get to know Christ more and more daily. Also to be Bold as a Lion to witness to other especially the Buddhist couple that comes to BAM.
2) I am reading both Proverbs, 1 and 2 Peter for Women's Grace Group Bible Study. I also read John to refresh me what I have learned from your wonderful sermon and reading chapter 14 daily reminder to memorize. I haven't capture that quite yet to where we should be at.
3)The Cross of Christ by John Stott (I need a PH.D. degree to be able to read his book.) I am trying to read other books but hard to keep up with the job schedule I have. (Of course, I do read other blogs daily online and newspaper.)
Justin thanks for the interaction. I need God's leading in our lives for the future. Obviously for a healthy church for Goldsboro, but also for where and what he wants us to do in the fuure.
I'm reading in Joshua and in different areas in the epistles.
Outside of the Bible I'm reading Worship Matters by Bob Kauflin, Living the Cross Centered Life by Mahaney, Beginners Guide to Spiritual Gifts by Storms, and All of Grace by Spurgeon.
Pray that our church (Red Oak) would continue in unity and love under the gospel of Christ.
I'm reading in Joshua, Psalms, and Hebrews.
I'm reading What is a Healthy Church Member (Thabiti A.), The Practice the Presence of God (Brother Lawrence), Preaching Christ in All of Scripture (Clowney), and Prolegomena (Bavinck).
Thanks for the blog and concern for your readers. I have had your blog on my feed for a while. I have stopped doing my own for a while.
As far as prayer goes, Our church plant did not succeed so we (my family and others) are trying to find a church. We think God is leading us to specific church but are not certain this is the one.

Romans 11:33-36,
Thanks for the comment.
I am praying for you right now.
I'll pray that God will cultivate humility and weaken pride in your heart.
At every point in our lives, pride is our greatest enemy and humility our greatest friend.

How would you answer these questions?
Lisa B.
Oh yeah, I forgot books I'm reading for work:
Good to Great (Collins), Getting Things Done (Allen), and Death by Meeting (Lencioni)
Ha ha, maybe I should change my prayer request, to be able to read faster and retain more...
