Sermon Outline: John 1:1-5

In John 1:1-5, we see the glory of the person and work of Jesus Christ.


1. The Glory of the Person of Jesus (1:1-2).
a. As God, Jesus existed for all eternity (1:1-2).
b. As Son, Jesus is the second person of the Trinity (1:1 - "with God").
c. As Word, Jesus is the clearest communication of God (1:1).


2. The Glory of the Work of Jesus (1:3-5).
a. Jesus is the source of all things (1:3).
b. Jesus is the Life-giving Light (1:4-5).


2 Implications:
1. We must be willing to die for these truths.
2. The glory of Jesus Christ should lead us to affirm and embrace His centrality in all things.
