I love this interview with Mark Dever (it was actually a phone conversation with several pastors). Excellent!
Here is my summary of it:
"Dr. Dever, what is discipleship in the local church?"
Dever: Preaching the gospel.
"Mark, what does Capitol Hill do to help people grow in Christ."
Dever: We preach the gospel every Sunday.
"Dr. Dever, the church is in crisis today, what should we do?"
Dever: We should preach the gospel.
"Mark, how do we reach unbelievers today?"
Dever: Preach the gospel.
"Mark, why has expository preaching not been practiced as much today?"
Dever: People try to rely on their own means instead of using God's means, which is preaching the gospel.
"Dr. Dever, the church minimizes theology today. How do we get people to love doctrine?"
Dever: Preach the gospel.

Sounds a lot like the Apostle Paul doesn't it?
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes ....Romans 1:16

Of course I could fill up this comment with many more verses - but this should suffice!

Also thank you for preaching the Gospel and His Word to us faithfully every Sunday! I have learn a lot more with you and Jonathan and Tim than any other churches that I had been to not counting Open Door that is our church planter. I am so thankful for you all!
