The Facebook Experiment

The Facebook Experiment begins today. I've signed up and am looking for some friends (good news: my wife has already confirmed my status as her friend!). I'm going to give it a try for a month. I will evaluate my experience on January 15 and decide whether to continue or not.

What is this sudden FB surge at CBC, lol?!

FB is an anomaly to me. I myself don't have any problem with it and enjoy it as a great resource to keep up with family and friends. However, I have both seen and heard of it's mezmorizing power over many a strong person. I have a plethora of thoughts on fb, most of them are negative-mainly because I think it facilitates more impersonal relationships and alot of times overrides genuine communication-not to say that writing "happy birthday" on someone's wall is not meaningful at all, but you know what I mean. It can also be terribly time consuming if you let it-I update my fb somewhat regularly alongside my blog, but by no means do I camp out beside it and leave it up on my computer all day, yikes! Who needs to know your status 24/7? I've had FB since my freshman year at college, so at this point deleting it would be like getting rid of a blog, and there are just too many good memories stored in that little account. Also, the unfortunately undeniable truth of it is, that fb is the BEST way I've found to get in touch with our generation. My bottom line on fb is that it is what you make it. It can be a great tool, and fun too:) I suppose it's like coffee, some people have a problem with it, others just enjoy it for what it is and don't go crazy over it!
Rambling stops here, lol.

We're glad to have you guys back in NC, and jealous of your TX snow :)

I am glad that you are on the FaceBook with us. It can be a wonderful tools if use in godly way! Encouragement is one of them. Witnessing to others is another way too. I know that you will use it for Christ Alone.

Thank you for CBCW's group on the FaceBook. I do hope that will reach out to others that doesn't go to your blog or CBCW's website.

It will be very encouraging to see what the Lord is doing on the facebook too.

In Christ Alone,
