A Weekend Question or Two for You
What book(s) are you currently reading right now? What book(s) would you recommend as essential Christian reading that may not be as well known?

Currently reading: Unexpected Blessings by Cameron Lee The Divine Conspiracy by Dallas Willard The Fear of God by Bunyan
Must Reading? the Cross & Christian Ministry by DA Carson The Rare Jewel of Christian Contentment by Jeremiah Burroughs John Owen on Indwelling Sin, Temptation & The Mortification of Sin... and throw in The Death of Death in the Death of Christ
well, its the summer- so I have slowed down in how many books I read at a time!
Currently reading: Anxious for nothing- MacAurthur
Loving God with all your mind- Liz George-
Feminine appeal- Carolyn Mahaney
Must read- I mostly read books directed towards women...so the one that I found that would be good for all is
"The Attributes of God" by Pink. Its small but jammed packed with scripture and theology! This is the first book that I ever read that helped me understand who God is- and it rocked my world! I refer to it often...also good for adoration.
Currently reading Ryle's Practical Religion and Arnold Dallimore's biography of George Whitefield, Vol. 1.
After that, the following are hopefully going to be attacked when I get home: Ryle - Old Paths Amusing Ourselves to Death - Neil Postman The End of Education - Neil Postman The Disappearance of Childhood - Neil Postman The Christian Teacher in the Public School
As far as essential books go, I would recommend the works of J.C. Ryle (especially Holiness and Practical Religion - which should be read in conjunction). I don't find them on many "must read" lists and I don't understand why. He is profoundly evangelical, Calvinistic, and passionately heart-searching.
reading: The Excellent Wife- Martha Peace The Mission of Motherhood - i forget the author and it's in the bedroom where russ is sleeping! The Well-Trained Mind- Susan Bauer When You Rise Up - RC Sproul Jr must-read: Feminine Appeal- Caroline Mahaney Woman After God's Own Heart-Elizabeth George -laura
