Ephesians 1:3-14

What a joy to spend three weeks here at the beginning of my time in Wilson expositing this great passage. Ephesians 1:3-14 is rich with reasons to praise God. In case you care, here is how I broke the passage up into three sections highlighting each person in the trinity's role in our salvation:

1. The Selection of the Father (1:3-6)
2. The Sacrifice of the Son (1:7-12)
3. The Seal of the Spirit (1:13-14)

or,

Our salvation is planned by the Father, purchased by the Son, and preserved by the Spirit.

I usually loath preachers who use outlines like this, that start with the same letter. However, I really think this one works and is not contrived. I honestly do not remember where I got the selection, sacrifice, seal language. I'm positive it is not original.

It is a joy for me to highlight these different roles and to point to the ulitmate purpose of salvation week after week (v. 6, 12, 14).
