Does the 8th Commandment Apply to Seagulls?
Another evidence of universal depravity. The whole creation was subjected to futility...awaiting redemption. Watch for yourself.

Customers are paying for the chips. I think that's a positive thing, not negative. Negative would be if they just stood and laughed without feeling an obligation to pay for the chips.
Great point, anonymous. The customers are "redeeming" the bird. The bird no longer has a debt for stealing the chips because of the sacrifice of another. However, the bird is still morally neutral, needing the positive imputation of righteousness.
And, I would suggest the bird needs to repent of his stealing and begin working for the chips by serving as a nightwatchman for the store!
Of course, my sense of humor is probably not very funny to anyone else.

I don't think I would say the bird is morally neutral however, I think the bird is just as I, in my natural state, (Praise be to God I have been redeemed!) is morally depraved. But I assume this is the same thing (morally neutral & morally depraved) now that I think about it.
I too agree that the bird needs to repent and begin to work for the chips. Maybe one of the customers would do as the Lord commands of his people to hold the bird accountable and tell him the error of his ways. Sadly, though it's not happening much in the American church today.
Yes, somebody should confront this wretched bird and warn him of the consequences of his depravity.
And, if that bird would make a generous contribution to my private jet fund, I will send him a genuine prayer cloth, which will wipe away all his birdly misery!
I know that seagulls does steal shrimps that I use for fishing. They are sneaky when they do that.
We all need a Savior.
This is the first I have seen for shoplifting. I guess that he and his family are hungry for food. If I would them, I would try something that would provide food for all of them, so that he wouldn't have to shoplift again. But again, Sam got to learn not to steal from the store though.
