Jerry Bridges is one of the most gospel-centered authors writing today. His books are soaked with the great news that Christ died for our sins.
So, I was thrilled to hear that he has not one, but two new books available. They are both set to arrive on my front porch any day now. I can't wait!
One of them is called Respectable Sins: Confronting the Sins We Tolorate. Click on the link and look at the table of contents for the list of "respectable" sins. I was convicted just looking through the table of contents.
The other one is called The Great Exchange: My Sins for His Righteousness (forward by Sinclair Ferguson). I cannot resist books about the Cross. I want to constantly draw near to the blazing center of the glory of God.

Wow, I looked at the table of contents too- that looks like a great book! (respectable sins) these are things I struggle with daily- and I am starting to see big time in Naomi....
I was thinking too- it would be good to read one book right after the first one....because it is good to look at our hearts and see just how deep our sin really is- but then to turn around and soak up thoughts of Gods perfect grace. I think it will give me a greater appreciation for the cross...and have the hope that:
Rom 8:1 "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
Micah 7:19 "He will again have compassion on us and will subdue our iniquities. You have cast all our sins into the depths of the sea"
