It is better to give than to receive; but it is still good to receive.

My friend, Rob surprised me today with a great gift. He sent me a copy of the new Reformed Expository Commentary on Daniel with a little note from the author, Iain Duguid. What a gift! I'm tempted to sleep with it tonight (of course, that is an exaggeration).

Thanks Rob.

In case you are unaware, Iain Duguid is one of the most Christ-centered Old Testament scholars out there. Some of his other books include:

1. Esther and Ruth in the Reformed Expository series.
2. Ezekiel in the NIV Application series.
3. Numbers in the Preaching the Word series.
4. Hero of Heroes: Seeing Christ in the Beatitudes.
5. Living in the Grip of Relentless Grace: The Gospel in the Lives of Issac and Jacob.
6. Living in the Gap Between Promise and Reality: The Gospel According to Abraham.

My friend, Presley suprised me a few weeks ago with a copy of The Joy of Fearing God signed by Jerry Bridges.

Thanks Presley (for the book and for being the only person who reads this blog).

In case you are unaware, Jerry Bridges is one of the most Christ-centered authors of this generation. My regular reader(s) are well aware of his books since I recommend them so often!

Hey, I read your blog too! BTW, I just started reading "The Discipline of Grace" by Bridges. I don't know that I would have noticed this book if you had not recommended it on your blog. Thanks! I am really enjoying it... I just hope I don't owe you $10,000 now! Thanks, Mike, Rowlett, TX
