Psalm 119: How Often Do You Thank God for His Word?

Psalm 119:62: "At midnight I rise to praise you because of your righteous rules."

Psalm 119:97: "Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day."

Psalm 119:147: "I rise before dawn and cry for help; I hope in your words."

Psalm 119:148: "My eyes are awake before the watches of the night, that I may meditate on your promise."

Psalm 119:164: "Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous rules."

Not as early as you do quite yet! Man, you get up early, dude. Thanks for continuing to challenge me. God is good...read through E.M. Bounds "Power Through Prayer" yesterday. Some really great examples of early risers who took up 2-3 hours solely to pray. Though Charles Simeon apparently went a solid 4 (from 4-8). Adoniran Judson encouraged people to go to focused, purposeful prayer 7 times a day, even giving specific times that we're good for him, which is what I thought of when reading Psalm 119:6. Of course, Jesus does remain the greatest example. This, while elementary to some, struck me because most of the time I've just mixed everything up over a 2 hour span (reading, preparing a devotional for a group, praying, etc.) But there's so much more, yeah. It's been a wonderfully convicting read. Anyhow, I know it's random but just thought I'd share. Thanks for continuing to post on here J-Chil.
Peace, Pres

I love to read Psalm 19 as it is written and meditate on it. I also love to read Psalm 19 and substitute Jesus for righteous rules, law, your words, promise etc.
Mainly because I am so inept at following His righteous rules.
