The ESV Study Bible is only days from its official release. The blogosphere is buzzing with anticipation. Countdown widgets tell us we still have to wait 12 days, 10 hours, 10 minutes, and 33 seconds (of course its sooner now because you are reading this after I wrote it!).So, are you getting one? Have you preordered one or are you waiting for them to be available?
I am getting one. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it since I don't really like to do my normal Bible reading from a Study Bible. It will probably serve as a reference (kind of like a one volume commentary). I haven't preordered one because WTS will have them at 40% (hardcover at 43% off) when they are available. I haven't been able to find a cheaper price.
There are several options:
Hardcover (cheapest)
True Tone (with a cool triangle thingy on the cover; I like the natural brown color!)
Bonded Leather (same price as the true tone)
Genuine Leather (durable)Calfskin Leather (You'd have to get a few extra jobs to afford this one)

Thanks for the heads up, I had pre-ordered it back in May at a 35% discount from Crossway, but was able to cancel it and order the one from WTS for an additional $5 savings.
Like you though, not real sure how I'll use it yet as my regular Bible (original style ESV) is all marked up and a trusted friend...

We've decided to wait and do the WTS thing too. However, if you are getting the hardback version, evangelicalbible.com has them for 45% off and free shipping (at least as of a couple days ago). You may want to check that out.
Correction: they are 48% off - $25.99. Hard to beat that. The other versions are still cheaper at WTS.
Double correction: It appears that shipping is free on all versions except the hardback. I guess WTS turns out to be the best place to buy books yet again.

You are right. If all you are ordering is the hardcover ESV Study Bible, Amazon will be cheaper when you include shipping.
