Have you ever thought about the fact that shouting is commanded in Scripture?
Psalm 66:1: "Shout for joy to God, all the earth..."
Shouting is a very undignified thing to do. Important people don't shout. Prideful people let others do the shouting.
What or who do you shout for? A sports team? In anger? To get someone's attention?
Shout in joy for God.

There were times that I want to get on top of my house to shout to the world the good news! Of course, we all need to shout for joy to Him.
I mostly shouting (chearing) when I am watching the score (without the TV) online in UNC-Tarheels games or when I am actually watching the sport on someone's TV. Go HEELS!
Rarely shout to get someone attention unless he/she is in danger.
I had shout when I am angry within my family.

One of the hardest sins for me to admit was that I already shout and lift up my hands and dance, just not to God. How much glory I give to things and athletes, while God gets my most dignified silence.
When I saw that this was the worship that God commands from me, and that it is always tethered to a robust understanding of who he is and what he has worked on our behalf, I realized that my silence actually said something inaccurate (heretical?) about the God I serve, namely, that he is not really worth my worshipping with all my might. What could we be communicating about the gospel? What could we communicate if we, as one redeemed people, shouted with all our hearts in joy to the God who has conquered our enemies and has purchased us for himself?
