1. Sweet Tea - Every resturant has sweet tea.
2. The weather is noticeably cooler.
3. BoJangles -bigger than Dairy Queen in Texas. BoJangles is a "Famous Chicken N Biscuits" fast-food resturant. No matter where you are, you are not farther than a couple miles from a BoJangles (so it seems). They serve breakfast biscuits all day long. A nice chicken strip basket with a side, a biscuit, and a sweet tea for under $5. Rivals Chick-fil-A.
4. Sales tax is cheaper than Texas (so is property tax).
A couple things I don't like:
1. State income tax and tax on groceries.
2. People smoke in public buildings (in my office building).
3. "Starter" houses don't come with garages or carports. What's up with that? In Texas, its not a house if there is no place to park the ride out of the weather.
4. Red hot-dogs. Someone please explain.

What about really, really nice people that have the greatest of accents? Or mountains and the ocean, world class golf courses, Billy Graham, and don't forget college basketball and REAL BBQ.
And I'd personally rather have Dairy Queen than Bojangles (or BuzzBuzz ice cream at Ben & Jerry's). Red hot dogs are admittedly very weird. And unfortunately you're in tobacco country.
I guess the nice people have to outweigh the quirks. Although the nice people have quirks, too -- like the fact that I eat peanut butter for breakfast almost every day...

Have you discovered Cheerwine yet? It is a cherry cola that I think is only found in the Carolinas.
How do you like the b-b-q compared to Texas?
Justin,
I think we exchanged emails awhile back. Very encouraging to follow God's hand on your life and to see Him lead you to NC! My wife (a native Texan) and I have lived here for two years. We're now apart of the Sovereign Grace church in Charlotte.
I just wanted to say I'm praying for you as you trust God for the growth of Christ Baptist for his greater glory in NC and the nations!! I can't help but say Bojangles has to be the greasiest food on the planet! My wife won't let me eat there!
Blessings brother!
HI! Justin,
I agree with LB in the first paragraph. Close to the beach and mountain, Billy Graham the Cove and golf place and college basketball game.
As for going to the Cove, I got to married a millionarie in order to afford to go to the Cove.
As for no garage or carport, I grew up with carport but I own a house that doesn't have either of that. We can live without it. I did rather have a garage thou.
TAX is TAX.
Yep, It's a shame to have smoking in public place but Wilson is known for that. Sorry about that. I don't like it at all.
There are many other great place to eat at. You should visit Griff's Steak Barn and you will always return there. It's one of my favorite places to go to. Try Sunday lunch buffet there. It's out of the world.

I told Denbigh to pack his bags. We could use some BoJangles and my favorite is Buscuitville outside Goldsboro.
Awww man.... I knew I loved you, bro. I love Bojangles. We would always stop at the location on 64 (the old highway) just as you're coming into Wilson. Good stuff! Though one of the earlier comments is certainly correct... greasy!
someone else also mentioned Cheerwine. That originates in the Western part of the state, in Salisbury, NC--near my hometown, Lexington, the BBQ capital of the world! Get good BBQ and great soda in one trip! ;-)
My wife swears by a place called Bill's Hot Dogs in Washington, NC--about 40 minutes east of Wilson. the hot dog is like neon red and crazy spicy hot! No idea who thought that stuff up!
Sorry about the taxes, but at least there is sweet tea!
Praying for your labors in the Gospel!

Hi,
Actually, the vinegar BBQ is not a favorite of mine. Even though I love vinegar and have it on salad and such. I wonder where I could get western BBQ in Wilson.
