Fireproof: "Don't follow your heart; lead your heart."
Jeanna and I went to see Fireproof for our anniversary. I absolutely loved it. I can't believe I'm about to write this: It was well worth the $17.50 we paid to get into the theatre.
Those who know me know that I can't stand movies. I can count on one hand how many movies I have watched this year (not including the ones I watch with my little girl).
Great acting does not make a good movie. Multi-million dollar special effects do not make a great movie. Famous actors do not make a movie worth watching. Truth is what matters in a moive.
If the gospel has changed your life. If you think marriage is supposed to be between one man and one woman for life. If you believe that only God can make a marriage work. If you are amazed that Christ continues to love you in spite of your rebellion. If you have ever shared the gospel with someone and been rejected. If you have a wayward son or daughter. This movie is for you.
The gospel is clear. Marriage is honored. Sin is real. God is the hero.
Have you seen it? What did you think?

I've seen if 4 times! Twice before bringing it to Duncan then twice last Saturday when our church sponsored to showing at our local theatre.
You are right. It clearly presents the gospel! It makes clear God's design and desire for marriages!
Sorry you had to pay $17.50 -- our local sold out the theatre to our church for $5.25 per ticket!
My wife and I saw it opening weekend and absolutely loved it! It definitely exceeded our expectations. We've been telling everyone we know that they should go see it! It's totally on our list to own when it comes out on DVD.
This is a good movie with a 'down to earth,' positive message. I can't wait to see what these guys do next.
