Some reflections on day 2:
1. Lig Duncan (pictured with me in the suit) preached a powerful sermon from Numbers 5 this morning. Grab the closest Bible and read Numbers 5. Not the most preached section of the Bible! Lig showed why the text is important for Christians and then exposited it with great precision and passion. He ended by showing the glory of Christ in the gospel through this text. This was a great sermon and great example of how to preach Christ from the Old Testament!
2. I'm officially a Steve Lawson fan. I went to his seminar on the expository genius of John Calvin. It was a fantastic meditation on Calvin's high view of expository preaching. I'll reflect more on this when I get home.
3. Al Mohler preached from 1 Cor. 2:1-5 tonight. He talked about preaching in weakness and trembling so that the cross shines brightly. He urged us to preach the cross and nothing but the cross.
4. 11 free books!
Highlight of the day: Talking with Tom Ascol, director of Founders. After chatting for a while, I asked him, "What did you think about MacArthur's opening message yesterday?" He replied, with an appropriate expression, "It was horrible." Yes, it was horrible.
Anybody know who that is in the picture with the white shirt?

Can you list the 11 free books from the conference? To me that is always interesting to know what our pastor's are reading and feeding their souls with. Thanks.
